My name is Kaila Coleman, and I am a lawyer now living in New England. I grew up in Colorado, where I performed, wrote, and maintained a gallery residency.
Before moving to the East Coast, I graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder with a degree in English, a minor in journalism and linguistics, and an interdisciplinary certificate in writing. I graduated magna cum laude after defending my honors thesis on the adaptability and universality of Shakespeare, which has since been published; an excerpt can be found here.
After college, I wrote for She's SINGLE Magazine and found my first publications, which you can read here. I have also included a paper that was accepted at an English honors conference that compared Shakespeare to his contemporary, John Webster.
While at Quinnipiac University School of Law, I earned concentrations in Intellectual Property Law and International Law and Policy, which amounted to a lot more reading and writing.
I have been writing since I began reading, and I hope that, through the various genres of writing I have included here, you find something that inspires you to do the same.
